It is my belief that our economy is on the comeback. There are numerous indicators that this is true. On September 25, 2009, Reuters reported out of New York that a survey released that day, sees many U.S. small businesses as being optimistic about growth and as expecting the economy to improve in three to six months. Four out of five small businesses are pursuing a moderate or aggressive growth strategy, expanding into new markets and producing more revenue among existing customers, according to the survey released by Chase Card Services, the credit card division of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
The survey questioned one hundred sixty eight chief and senior executives from the annual Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest-growing small companies between September 10 and September 14. Seventy five percent of the companies said that they believe the U.S. economy and their business will be doing better in three to six months. Some twenty seven million small businesses operate in the USA and are responsible for roughly forty million jobs.
I agree that these optimistic results validate a sense that the economy is improving. Also, Richard Quigley, President of Inc. from Chase stated, "There's certainly a bit of light on the horizon. We're not home yet but it's certainly going in the right direction."
According to the Reuters survey, forty nine percent of the small businesses that responded said they were adding positions and twenty nine percent said they were not adding jobs but were hiring to upgrade talent. When asked to name the hardest part of owning a business right now, the most common answer was their ability to forecast accurately. Quigley said he attributed that response to small business owners being "driven by gut level passion that is not always tied to logic. Logically, I think a lot of people wouldn't even start a small business," he said.

Everyone is bound to be afraid of something. Young children are often afraid of the dark (achluophobia), or fear being separated from their parents. Sometimes those fears remain with an individual for their entire life. Occasionally, experiences as a young child cause psychological issues, that eventually translate into dread later on in life. For example, if as ...
Politics is a relatively difficult subject to discuss, considering the emotion and sheer gravity of the subject. People have been known to get into arguments, fights, and global wars based on differences of opinion regarding this subject. We pay Congress hundreds of millions of dollars a year to debate politics, and let's face it; it takes them a week to make instant...
Let's face it: nowadays we do a lot of things online. We bank through websites, make purchases, schedule meetings, rent DVDs, even grocery shop. Almost all of the websites used require a password when you register for them to become a member. Password security is a huge issue, and password theft has been increasing over the last few years, along with iden...
Remember back when movie tickets cost 50? Neither do I. Movie theaters nowadays are astronomically expensive. From movie tickets to popcorn, boxes of nachos to fountain drinks, everything about movie theaters today is far more expensive than the simpler times in the past. Is the expense truly worth it? Consider the cost of movie tickets themselves: in 2008, the a...
